Presentation of the Conceptual Framework of the starting project FarmPATH by Teresa Pinto-Correia and Filipe Lucas Barroso. Several Dynamo members are involved in this project and represent the Portuguese partnership (through project ATILA) in this European project. FarmPath is a three year collaborative research project funded through European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme, which will run from March 2011 to February 2014. The overall goal of FarmPath is to identify and assess future transition pathways towards regional sustainability of agriculture in Europe, and the social and technological innovation needs required to initiate and progress along these pathways.

Presentation: Margarida Ambar – about her Master thesis dealing with Stakeholders´ encompassing and their intersectoral integration in Land Development projects. Margarida Ambar is a tecnician of General Direction for Agriculture and Rural Development (DGADR do Ministério da Agricultura).

Presentation: Teresa Pinto-Correia – about the results from projects: ROSA (Social Preferences for land cover types at regional level) and FRAGARIA (Landscape appreciation index at European level). The Dynamo members met with the representatives from CCDR-A (Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Alentejo) and discussed the results from the projects. Moreover, some ideias about future cooperation between Dynamo and CCDR-A were exchanged.

Meeting of Dynamo members with representatives from Office of Planning and Agri-food Policy (GPP) supporting the definition of strategic guidelines, priorities and objectives for the policies of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries (MADRP). Presentation: Teresa Pinto-Correia – about recent results of the projects; and possible future collaboration.

Meeting of Dynamo members with Wenche Dramstad from Norwegian Forest and Landscape Institute and Marc Antrop from Gent University in Belgium. A discussion focused mainly on statistical methods applicable to the reasearch dealing with landscape preferences.

Discussion about research work of the Dynamo group – its development since 2002 (when it was funded) and its research focus. Furthermore a definition of future research strategies of the group was apresented by prof. Teresa Pinto-Correia (Dynamo group leader) and discussed within Dynamo members.
