Facing the complexity of Mediterranean landscapes, the multiple processes they register at different scales, and the emerging social demand for their multifunctionality comprising commodity and non-commodity functions, this group gathers research with various perspectives and disciplines, emerging both from natural, social and human sciences. This integration is seen as required in order to face the challenges arising from the complexity faced by management, from public policies to the local farm level. And aims at fulfilling an existing lack in research and knowledge production, concerning particularly the Mediterranean context.
